Here, you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions about our services, including insurance coverage, rental terms, pick-up and drop-off locations, pricing, and more. If you have any FAQs, we will help you with everything you need to know.
Our Scooties come with standard motor insurance that provides protection for both the Scooty and other vehicles in the event of damage. This insurance also includes coverage for personal injuries sustained by you and your passengers (at local government hospitals) as well as injuries to third parties (refer to the diagram). The standard motor insurance is subject to a $150 USD excess, meaning you are responsible for the first $150 of any claim. If you prefer a better cover with no excess, allowing you to travel without worrying about the $150 liability or its limitations, you can opt for our Peace of Mind Cover. This add-on brings the excess down to $0 for an additional $50 USD per trip.
To drive a scooty in Sri Lanka, you need a Sri Lankan Recognition Permit with the “bike” endorsement on it. We can obtain this by using your International Driving Permit (IDP) if you have a B/C endorsement on it. As of 30 March 2025, the Automobile Association of Ceylon requires you to have an International Driving Permit (IDP) to process your Sri Lankan Recognition Permit.
We highly recommend obtaining a physical International Driving Permit from your home country and carrying it with you while driving a scooty in Sri Lanka, in addition to your local driving permit (recognition permit). More information about how to get your International Driving Permit from your home country can be found here.
If you are already travelling or unable to get your physical International Driving Permit from your home country, please get in touch with us, and we can guide you in the right direction.
Once you pay the $40 fee (per license), all you have to do is fill out the license form link, which comes along with the booking confirmation email, and submit it to us. Your scooty driving permit will be ready for you when you arrive in Sri Lanka. It’s a simple process, so don’t worry! Yes, of course. Just let us know 2 days before you drop off, and our driver will come to your hotel and pick up the tuktuk. Please note that there are location charges involved.
Yes, of course. Just let us know 02 days before you drop off and and our driver will come to your hotel and pick up the tuktuk. Please note that there are location charges involved.
Why not! One of our driving instructors will then drive the tuktuk with your licence and the necessary documentation to your hotel in the specific pick-up location, where you will receive your driving instruction.
Our prices vary based on the rental duration: the longer you book, the lower the cost. Short-term rentals incur higher charges because they offer less attractive value propositions for our tuktuk owners. These increased rates for brief rental periods are passed on to our tuktuk owners accordingly.
